NXNE sat 2008

wooo so we didn't hit up as many venues this night. To be honest i was wiped out from being out until 4am on friday. I'm old now i can't do it!!!

ok so here was the bands i experienced last night:

Dance Yourself To Death@ Holy Joe's: I've seen DYTD a long long time ago at the Elmocombo, and i remember thinking they were really awesome back then too!! It wasn't until i was sweating my ass off in Holy Joe's that i remembered that i had seen them before...i'm getting old. Anyway they packed the pack the place for such an early show. They were really high energy and had the floors shaking with all the dancing going on!! The only problem i had was that their set was too short !

Matthew Barber@ Rivoli: OMG this guy is soo cute it hurts me. He has such a sweet smooth voice. His songs were all kinda slow alt. Country love songs, Which was a definite change of pace for me. He had a really good stage presence, which made Matthew Barber really nice to watch.

Said the Whale@ Rivoli: Whoah these guys really like the west coast!! they had several songs about it and they talked about it a lot!! They were super good and i was really happy i came early enough to watch. They made want to dance...and if i hadn't of been so tired i just might have!!
I also the harmony of the two guitar players and the bassist, it was really something let me tell ya!

Magneta Lane@ Rivoli: ok, It's hard for me to not be completely bias b/c i LOVE Magneta Lane!!I haven't seen them play in the city in awhile so when they Opened with constant lover i was a little more then pleased! They were all that i had expected, Lots of drums, lots of bass and just the right amount of guitar...which is not that much. They don't really have much of a stage show but they make up for by being Amazing musically, watching French on the bass is in itself a show.Lexi's Voice makes me weak in the knees.........i just had to put that in there. I love you Magneta Lane...i really really do.

p.s when the girls from Magneta Lane were standing in front of me during Said The Whale i really wanted to squeeze them!!
